Christopher Emmanuel "Chris" Paul (born May 6, 1985) is an American professional basketball player of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing at 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m) and weighing 175 lb (79 kg), he has started exclusively at the position of point guard. Paul has won the NBA Rookie of the Year Honor, an Olympic gold medal, and brought a NBA in assists 3 times and steals six times. He's already been selected to 7 NBA All-Star teams, six All-NBA teams, and six All-Defensive teams.
Paul had been a McDonald's All-American in high school. He attended Wake Forest University for just two years of university basketball where he helped the Demon Deacons accomplish their 1st ever number one position. He had been elected 4th overall on the 2005 NBA draft with the New Orleans Hornets and traded with the Clippers in 2011.
On December 8, 2011, the Hornets accepted a three-team trade sending Paul to the L . A . Lakers. A NBA, who owned the team during the time, nullified the deal, with commissioner David Stern claiming New Orleans would be better off keeping Paul.The teams taking part in the trade attempted to negotiate the league to change its ruling and reconstruct the deal does not help.On December 12, the Hornets approved a trade sending Paul on the Los Angeles Clippers, but the deal broke down once the NBA added additional demands to the authentic terms. 2 days further, the teams now made the deal, transferring Paul and two future 2nd stage draft picks to the Clippers for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and also Minnesota Timberwolves' unprotected first round pick within the 2012 draft. Upon the deal's completion, Paul declared which he might opt into the final season of his contract and stay on L . A . for about 2 more seasons.
